Abstract Notifications are now available. All PRESENTING authors were informed via email on July 30, 2013 about the outcome of their abstract presentation. If you did not receive your notification, please contact us.

 

IMPORTANT DEADLINES FOR ABSTRACT PRESENTERS

  Early Registration Deadline August 9, 2013 (23:59 PST)
  Deadline to confirm presentation of your abstract(s) August 16, 2013
  Late Breaking Submission Deadline August 30, 2013
  Deadline for presenting author or title changes September 6, 2013
  Presenting Author Registration Deadline September 6, 2013

 


 

ORAL PRESENTATIONS

  • You will have a total of 10 minutes; 8 minutes of presentation, followed by 2 minutes time for questions from the audience. Time Limits will be strictly enforced.
  • After a set of 3 - 4 related abstract presentations, a Discussant (keynote speaker) will provide a brief summary of the work that has been presented, commenting on the strengths and weaknesses and placing it in the context of other research / knowledge in the relevant area
  • Please be in room for your session 10 minutes before the start time of the session. The Session Chairs will start and end strictly on time.
  • You are asked to prepare a PPT Presentation with max. 10 slides (not including title and disclosure slide).
  • All presenters MUST include statement disclosing any conflict of interest related to your abstract as the first slide of your presentation.
  • Presenters can use their own PPT template or download the IASLC PPT template for their presentation
  • You MUST submit your PPT slides by October 4 to the online presentation management system (login details will be emailed in September 2013). This is required so the discussant of your abstract can review your presentation. Changes to your presentation may be submitted onsite to the Speaker Ready Room at least 24 hours prior to your presentation. We recommend that you visit the Speaker Ready Room to check on your presentation regardless if you have made any changes to your presentation.

POSTER PRESENTATIONS

  • To find out which day is your poster presentation on:
    • If you already know your poster number (in the format of PX.XX-XXX), the PX portion of your poster number tells you which day is your poster assigned for:
      • P1: Poster Session 1, Monday, October 28
      • P2: Poster Session 2, Tuesday, October 29
      • P3: Poster Session 3, Wed., October 30
    • If you do not know your poster number (in the format of PX.XX-XXX), please login to https://www.webges.com/cslide/wclc2013poster with the login information provided in the "WCLC 2013 - Invitation to Poster Slide Submission" email that was sent out on Monday, Oct. 7th to find out the poster number and the date of presentation. If you did not receive the email, please contact wclc@webges.com or WCLC2013-Abstracts@icsevents.com. Information on the poster number and presentation date is also available in the Onsite Program.
  • Location: Exhibit Hall (Halls 4 + 5), Sydney Exhibition & Convention Centre
  • Poster Setup Time: 08:30 - 09:30 on day of your Poster Session
  • Poster Take Down Time: 16:30 - 18:00 on day of your Poster Session (Posters not taken down after 18:00 will be discarded by management)
  • Presenting Author Stand By Time*: 09:45 - 10:30 AND 15:30 - 16:15 (Refreshment Breaks) on day of your Poster Session

*Time in which Poster Presenter remains at his Poster Board for the specified time period and is available to discuss their research personally with any interested delegate.

 

  • Maximum Poster Size: 1800mm (w) x 1200mm (h) – landscape format
  • Poster Boards will be velcro and push pin compatible. Push pins will be provided.
  • Keep illustrations and text simple, remember that one must be able to read it from a distance
  • Prepare your poster thoughtfully, remember that more than 500 posters will be presented at the same time - make your poster interesting!
  • Poster Board numbers will be provided in a separate email at the end of September - Management will identify each poster board with the poster number.

 

Poster electronic file

IASLC would like to request from all poster presenters to submit an electronic file of their poster to be included in the IASLC virtual library. The electronic file should be submitted in addition to having a printed poster presented at the Conference. Your poster electronic file should be PowerPoint file format. We strongly recommend that you submit several slides showing all details of your poster rather than one slide showing the image of your overall poster. In September you will receive a link to submit your poster PowerPoint slides online. The deadline to submit your slides is October 18, 2013.

 

Poster Printing Service

The Conference is pleased to offer a Poster Printing Service to all Poster Presenters. This will allow you to have your poster printed and just pick it up at the 'Poster Pick Up Counter' in the Exhibit Hall during the following hours. Further information including pricing, deadlines and instructions on how to order your poster print will be available shortly.

 

Only payments by credit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express) will be accepted.

  • One slide only please! - Your poster will be created from a single PowerPoint slide.
  • Fonts - Choose two fonts at most, nothing cursive. Stick to sans-serif fonts for legibility: Arial and Helvetica are recommended.
  • Backgrounds - For legibility and viewing ease, we suggest that you keep your backgrounds simple and avoid using dark colors.

How to order Poster Printing Service: Please log back into the abstract submission system (http://abstracts.webges.com/wclc2013) with your login details. Go to the 'Poster Printing' tab at the top of the page and follow the instructions.
