ADOPT A DELEGATE PROGRAM

 

IASLC is proud to introduce the ‘Adopt a Delegate’ initiative, giving prospective delegates from a developed world setting the opportunity to adopt or part finance the registration and accommodation costs of a peer from an emerging economy. Delegates can support other delegates by donating any amount they feel appropriate during their own online registration process. To encourage co-ownership of the project, adopted (sponsored) delegates will carry financial responsibility for return travel to the Conference, while the donated money will be used to help offset costs for registration and accommodation.

 

IASLC recognizes that most people from emerging countries don’t have the financial resources to attend meetings outside their country. With this initiative IASLC hopes to provide additional opportunities for those researchers and physicians to attend WCLC, exchange information and set up a network with researchers and physicians from all over the world attempting to help the sponsored delegate’s research both now and in the future.

 

IASLC hopes that many delegates will participate as ‘sponsors’ and would like to thank everyone for their consideration and support. All ‘sponsors’ will be acknowledged on the Conference website and in the Onsite Program. In addition to that we would be happy to arrange for face to face meetings between sponsors and sponsored delegates.

LETTER OF INVITATION FOR VISA

 

An official Letter of Invitation to obtain a Visa and authorization to attend the WCLC 2013 Conference in Sydney, Australia will be issued ONLY after a completed Registration Form and full payment have been received.

 

Please contact our registration department at wclc2013-registration@icsevents.com once you are registered and registration fees have been paid if you require a Letter of Invitation. Letters of Invitations will not be issued to parties who are not registered and/or paid in full.

 


 

REFUND AND CANCELLATION POLICY

 

Registration cancellations received in writing at the WCLC Registration Secretariat's address by September 13, 2013 will be accepted and all fees refunded, less a $150 AUD administrative fee (as per Committee policy). Cancellations received after Friday, September 13, 2013 will not be refunded; however, transfer of your registration to another person is permitted. This can be done by re-accessing your registration using the link on your confirmation letter. Transfer of registration onsite will incur a fee of $75 AUD (plus 10% GST). No refunds will be made for non-attendance at the Conference.

 

No refunds will be made prior to the Conference. Refunds will only be processed AFTER the Conference.

 

In the unlikely event that the 15th World Conference on Lung Cancer is cancelled, travel and accommodation costs will not be refunded.

If any checks are returned because of insufficient funds, WCLC will charge a $25 fee. Registrants will also
be required to pay the amount WCLC is charged by the financial institution that returned the check. WCLC

CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS

 

The 15th World Conference on Lung Cancer will be a great time and an exciting opportunity for all interested in lung cancer. To make the Conference a great success we depend on local assistance from approximately 60 – 80 students or other volunteers with good English language skills.

 

Volunteers for the 15th World Conference on Lung Cancer will be the first contact for many of the attendees. Their critical role will be to welcome foreign participants and to foster a spirit of helpfulness and hospitality.

You are required to:

  • Commit to at least one 7 hour shift on two consecutive days (total of 14 hours)
  • Agree to wear black shoes, pants/skirt and a Volunteer T-Shirt (Shirt provided by the Conference)
  • Speak fluent English
  • Attend a mandatory training session on Saturday, October 26 (not applicable if you sign up for the Conference Bag preparation on October 23 + 24 only)
