ONSITE MEDIA ARRANGEMENTS

Press and Media Access

Pre-registered Press and Media representatives are required to check in at the 'Registered Delegate Counter'. Non registered Press and Media representatives should proceed to the 'New Registration' counter. Media and press credential is required to receive a Press/Media Badge.

 

Media Room

A media work room is available and located in rooms Parkside G02 and G03, Ground Level at the Sydney Convention & Exhibition Centre.

Daily Onsite Newspaper

The daily Conference Newspaper will highlight the best presentations and will provide delegates with the latest news and opinions form the Conference. The newspaper will be available at the registration desk, in the delegate lounges in the Exhibit Hall and throughout the Sydney Convention & Exhibition Centre. The Newspaper will be available from Sunday through to Wednesday. A copy of each edition will also be posted on the Conference website at the end of each Conference day.

Highlight of the Day eBlast

Each morning (Sunday - Wednesday) the Conference will provide an update to their delegates via email highlighting the best sessions and presentations taking place that day. The eNews will also include any speaker or room udpates to make sure delegates always have the most up to date information.

Media and Embargo Policy

All abstracts presented at WCLC 2013 except for abstracts presented in the Presidential Symposium, the Press Conference as well as the most important Late Breaking Abstracts will have their embargo lifted and will be published on this website on October 1, 2013 at 10:00am PST.

 

Abstracts selected for the press program will be withheld from online publication and will not be included in the WCLC online program, except for a listing of titles and authors. Their embargoes will lift on Saturday, October 26 with the opening of registration at 14:00 AEST.

 

 

 

Media Registration

Click below link to register as a Media & Press Representative. IASLC reserves the right to refuse registrations as a media representative if below outlined requirements are not fulfilled. Please note, that you will not be able to finish your registration, if you do not provide the required supporting materials. You will need to upload these materials during the online registration process.

Registration Requirements

Journalists, including photographers, must work exclusively for the outlet for which they are credentialed (exceptions for freelance journalists are detailed below). Journalists who use their media privileges to work for non-credentialed organizations will have their privileges revoked. Journalists are required to complete the media registration form and submit the following:

 

  • A letter of assignment on the letterhead of the news organization being represented
  • Copies of 2 bylined medical/health/science articles (or credited photos) published within the last six months. Web links are acceptable, provided the full article is accessible.
  • A photocopy of official press credentials, such a press card issued by a recognized journalists' association or a government-sanctioned press organization (IASLC does not recognize press cards issued by web-based organizations such as IFNM) and/or a business card issued by a recognized news organization

 

Freelance journalists including photographers may work for multiple publications, as long as they confirm in advance that those publications are eligible for media registration. Freelance journalists must submit the following:

 

  • A letter of assignment on the letterhead of the news organization being represented
  • Copies of 2 bylined medical/health/science articles (or credited photos) published within the last six months. Web links are acceptable, provided the full article can be accessed.
  • A recent copy of the publication (a mailed copy, link to the publication's website or a photocopy of a cover/issue published within the past 6 months).
